As part of our ongoing Big Picture project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of WW1 we were delighted to produce a projected video sequence for a history project in London.
Emanuel School is hosting a free public exhibition on the experiences of Emanuel School boys in two world wars. The Exhibition showcases original First World War letters, photos and documents from Emanuel boys fighting in the trenches, in the air and on the sea.
We produced a colorised and animated sequence which was projected onto the building on the opening night of the exhibition.
Part of 14-18 NOW, WW1 Centenary Art Commissions, LIGHTS OUT have invited artists to create large-scale, site-specific artworks at locations across the UK.
In a dramatic UK-wide event LIGHTS OUT is an invitation to everyone to turn off their lights from 10pm to 11pm on 4th August, leaving on a single light or candle for this shared moment of reflection.
We are very pleased to announce that our digital resources are now live. Starting with the Europe wide LIGHTS OUT project we will be offering resources such as graphics and video for download. If you do use this content then we would love to see where it was used. You can drop us a line at www.thebigpicture.org.uk or mention us @BigPictureWW1 or tweet using #thebigpicture.
We've created a new infographic to explain the idea behind The Big Picture. Easy to understand and simple to share - have a look!
